1)  Board elections and 1st Year Review

 Agreed to postpone meeting by one week to Thursday, 7/23 due to presenter Keith Hertling’s availability.  Topic will be:  “Performance Enhancement through Nutrition in Training and Racing”.

• Stefano will provide short overview on 1^st year accomplishments
• All attendees will receive goodies, which Teresa will organize (e.g. gels, sport nutrition drinks from Hammer etc.)
• Several members will receive “awards” in the following categories:
• First 2 members to join T2:  Kelly Hennes, Gary Holliday
• Participated in 1^st triathlon ever:  Eric Hastings, Dale Johnson, Zach Frank, Brian Burd, Randi Burd
• Last one to pay membership dues:  Adam Arensdorf
• Winners of the 2009 Tinman:  Leslie Curley & Eric Wenrich
• Qualified for the 2008 70.3 Clearwater Championship:  Leslie Curley & Leon Small
• Also agreed to fund 2 $50 gift certificates:  one each from Capp’s and GPRC, which will be funded in half by T2 to be given away in a raffle.

2)  Status of 2009/10 membership dues

•  Beth to send out e-mail reminder to submit membership dues:  $36 for individuals and $60 for families.
• Members should be encouraged to sign up as families.
• Since complimentary t-shirt add-on was only marginally successful, Board agreed to eliminate this benefit.

3)  2010 Topeka Tinman Triathlon

•  Board unanimously supports Ryan Robinson to become new event/race director.
• Top priority is to re-establish Tinman’s former “glory” and make it again a real local event, where the local community will be called upon for volunteering and local business have always the first right of refusal.
• Agreed to set up a meeting with T2 member Tom Vlach, Director of Public Works for the county, to receive guidance on how to assist in the decision-making process regarding the future race director and how to go about the planned construction on Croco Road in 2010 to still make Tinman happen next year.
• Lunch meeting with Tom Vlach will take place at GPRC on Friday, 7/17 at 12.30 PM.

4)  Uniforms

•  Agreed to have the same look and color scheme of racing tops for both men and women.
• Uniforms will not be provided as benefit, but members have to pay for them.
• Stefano will contact sales rep of the company, KC Multisports is sourcing their uniforms from.

5)  T2 Promotion and volunteering “Kids Gotta Tri”

•  Agreed to support “Kids Gotta Tri” through volunteering in any form we can.
• Stefano to contact T2 member John Mugler to offer support.
• T2 to include flier into all race packages to raise awareness and attract new members.

6)  Plans for the remainder of the year

•  Teresa to find out whether we can supply T2 flier for Sunflower Game goodie bags.
• Teresa to find out details about printing a 2 ft. x 6 ft. T2 canvas banner to be used at major events as well as a 2 ft. x 3 ft. poster.
• Activities for the remainder of the year:
• Sunday, 7/26 – open water swim at Camp Hammond (Beth)
• Sunday, 9/20 – T2 social cook-out, location TBD (Teresa)
• Thursday, October 15 – Clinic “Metabolism, metabolic testing in training” with Mike Flynn at Rebound (Mike Acord)
• Thursday, November 19 – T2 Clinic “Off-Season training” at Rebound (Mike Acord)
• Next Board meeting:  Thursday, August 13 at 6.30 PM.
