In addition to the standard Olympic distance event, there will be a Half-Olympic Distance Sprint triathlon. Both distances will be USAT sanctioned. USA Triathlon is the sanctioning authority for more than 2,000 diverse events, ranging from grassroots to high-profile races nationwide. On the elite level, USA Triathlon is responsible for the selection and training of teams to represent the United States in international competition, including the world championships, Pan Am Games and Olympic Games. It conducts national camps and clinics and provides coaching education programs.
There will be many exciting activities that will make this event special and distinctive for participating athletes as well as their friends and family. The Kansas City Triathlon will be a destination event triathletes from novice to elite will want to make part of their 2009 race plans.
From 5:00am to 7:00pm in the middle of the *triathlon village* The Kansas City Triathlon will play host to an expo of many area businesses. There will be a great start, finish, and transition viewing area in which your company’s logo and support of this milestone race will be duly noted.
The Location:
Longview Lake is a 930-acre (3.8 km2) freshwater reservoir in Jackson County, Missouri.
